Information Architect in San Francisco, CA
FT permanent position
This person will work with our clients' key business sponsors and product managers to create high quality user experience/user interface deliverables for large, complex, database-driven, internal and consumer-facing websites site. This person will create standard information architecture documentation including wireframes, sitemaps, user flows, user scenarios, functional specifications, navigation schemas, taxonomy documentation and clickable prototypes. This role will design intuitive interfaces around the constraints of existing content management system; identify opportunities for improving the overall user experience of the Client web site; and plan and conduct usability evaluations and usability tests. This person will plan and conduct user research activities such as persona development and user analysis; conduct heuristics analysis, competitive audits and analysis; and work with the QA team to define test cases. This person will maintain expert knowledge of User Experience industry trends; participate in User Experience thought leadership within the company; and understand, leverage and recommend new, cutting-edge front-end technologies.
5+ years of professional information architecture/human computer interaction design experience is required. Excellent understanding and knowledge of User Centered Design principles and methods is required. Proven experience designing complex, CMS-driven consumer websites and web applications is required. Expert-level experience with diagramming and design tools such Visio, Axure, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. is required.
Candidates must have fluency in industry best practices for web-based information architecture and interaction design. Expertise in usability and user research/testing methods is required. Candidates must have an understanding of web technologies such as CSS, AJAX, PHP, ASP.NET, XML, DHTML, etc. Familiarity with Omniture or other Web analytics tools is required. Proven experience working with cross functional teams, the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines; and excellent project management and analytical/problem-solving skills are required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience working with geographically dispersed teams is required. Candidates must have an outstanding portfolio of related work. A BS or MS degree in Human/Computer Interaction, Human Factors, and Information Science, Library Science or related field is preferred. XHTML/CSS, JavaScript development skills are desired.
