Description General Summary: Directs and coordinates activities or workers engaged in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment and in maintenance of buildings, grounds and utility systems of plant by performing the below duties personally or through delegation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
1. Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices.
2. Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality and GMP policies, procedures and recognized practices.
3. Participates in plant staff, shift and safety meetings, and conducts regular departmental meetings and departmental training based on needs assessment.
4. Participates in plant operational planning meetings.
5. Coordinates with Chief Operations Officer, production, process, maintenance, quality, and logistics personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
6. Plans, develops and implements new methods and procedures in conformance with operational standards to improve operations and automation, minimize operating costs and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
7. Coordinates all new equipment installation or kine upgrades with the Corporate Engineering department.
8. Contracts outside vendors to perform scheduled maintenance and repairs in specialized areas and review performance for quality, cost effectiveness and adherence to policies and procedures.
9. Responsible for the selection, training and development of shift personnel to attain department goals. 10. May be responsible for special projects related to other functional areas. Supervisory
Responsibilities: May manage one or more subordinate managers who supervises up to 20 employees in the maintenance area or may directly supervise maintenance personnel. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Requirements Education and Experience: Four year college or university program certificate and three years related experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, employees, customers and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instuctions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Mechanical Ability: Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and power systems. Ability to interpret specifications, blueprints and schematics. Working knowledge of CAD and PPLC software. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Relevant licenses or certificates.
