The Site Operations Supervisor is a key member of the Operations staff with responsibility for providing support and supervision of the data center and all onsite support teams based upon guidance from the Data Center Manager. Additionally, the position is required to assist the Data Center Manager in developing and driving innovation, efficiency and cost-effective business practices. As a member of a world-class operations team the Site Operations Supervisor is responsible for interfacing with the Critical Facilities, Information Technology and Security teams on day-to-day operations. This position will also be required to be on-call and be expected to be available 24x7 as necessary by the business. This role requires complete ownership and accountability for one of our Data Centers highest profile technical positions, second only to the Data Center Manager of each region and is one of the two subject matter experts per region that oversees maintenance of the Data Centers and maintains the eBay legacy knowledge that includes, networking, systems integration, DB systems, storage, load balancing, front end servers, firewalls, bandwidth/internet connectivity, cabling and fiber optic systems distribution and DC critical systems that include power distribution, UPS, HVAC, and generators. This role serves as back-up to Data Center Manager while on vacation, travel or leave. Provide engineering solutions to DC technical challenges at all levels. Work with BU’s to develop deployment strategies, schedules, and determine gaps, and drive concerns to timely resolution. Provide assistance during the ten audits for each DC annually.

Knowledge of inventory management and control. Aspects to include: receiving of equipment, asset tagging, scanning, and organizational methods. Prior supervision of IT project based teams a must. Must be detail oriented and a team player. Should have experience installing large-scale data center equipment: network devices, security devices, Storage, Load Balancers, Firewalls, web/application/database servers, console and KVM related devices. Experience with cabling (fiber, copper, power, coax and serial). Expert computer skills required.
Must be able to multi-task and change priorities on a moment’s notice.
Some weekends and night work required. Will be on-call for emergency response and duties. Expert level Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) a must, Visio and AutoCAD a plus. Must have experience working in a raised-floor environment. Candidate needs to learn quickly and adapt to change. Must be able to follow documented processes. Must be able to lift 50lbs individually and 200 lbs with a team of people. 5 years of related experience. Additional technical training is a plus.
