Warehouse Supervisor
Description:
Perform required tasks to support efficient production operations, manage all storage areas as required. Tasks to include warehousing, receiving, inventory control. To include directing and managing of all receiving tasks for all materials ordered; responsibility for all warehouse and storage functions; inventory control. Provide coordination and leadership required ensuring teamwork and efficiency in all related areas.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
1. Manage all warehouse and storage areas, including off site areas. Implement and manage all inventory control policies and procedures. Be responsible for loss control, warehouse organization, rotation compliance, house keeping and sanitation practices. Responsible for maintenance and functionality of all refrigerated and warehouse storage areas, including temperature control and housekeeping. Maintain all storage areas to comply with site GMP's and GFSI standards.
2 Provide periodic reports (daily, weekly, monthly, YTD, etc.) to management. Reports to include summaries of warehouse, receiving and inventory control practices (cycle count variances, spoilage, shrinkage, etc.) including receiving department costs.
3. Manage Receiving Department to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures. Implement and monitor internal procedures to ensure accuracy in all phases of receiving. Monitor that all raw materials received meet established specifications. Maintain all receiving records in compliance with HACCP, GMP's and GFSI
4. Establish (with management), track and control receiving/warehouse labor rates and overtime costs. Provide departmental budgets as required and report on actual v. budgeted expenditures.
5. Manage direct reports to efficiently and effectively achieve all objectives in warehouse area while maintaining a positive relationship with employees and management.
6. Be part of team responsible for the selection, usage and maintenance of all material handling equipment including delivery vehicles, fork trucks, pallet racking and related equipment and supplies. Provide for required maintenance on a regular basis to ensure safe and reliable operation.
7. Be key person responsible to ensure all safety requirements are complied with including forklift training, OSHA compliance and other applicable regulatory requirements are met.
8. Manage department crewing to ensure adequate staffing and training is provided for optimum effective operations. Be key leader for human relation activities. Instill a sense of high morale through regular meetings and effective employee communication.
9. Other: Fulfill other duties as deemed necessary by Supervisor.
Skills Required:
Bachelor's degree preferred. High School diploma required. 5+ years experience in materials related positions including warehousing, receiving, materials handling, planning and inventory control. Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Strong interpersonal skills required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Training in use of materials handling equipment required.
Physical Limitations:
Requires prolonged sitting, 30%+ standing/walking. Use of computer terminal 50-80%. Some lifting (up to 50 lb.) may be required.
