Research Analyst II
Dominican University of California is an independent university of Catholic heritage located 12 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin County, California. Founded in 1890 by the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael, Dominican enjoys a century-long reputation for excellence in scholarship, research, and community outreach. The University offers more than 60 academic programs that reflect the diversity and creativity of the faculty and students. With more than 2,100 graduate and undergraduate students and a student to faculty ratio of 11:1, Dominican is able to successfully blend personal direction associated with smaller schools with the academic resources of a larger university. Students come from across the United States, although primarily from California, and represent 21 foreign countries. The Research Analyst II will work with the Director to design and perform data analysis and research, quantitative and qualitative, on subjects that support the mission and strategic planning process of the university.

Responsibilities
- Transition the University Data Warehouse from Microsoft Access to SQL server and maintain it afterwards
- Developing online analytical processing using SQL Server and Microsoft Analysis Services
- Prepare analytical reports on student, faculty, and institutional effectiveness in response to reporting requirements of WASC and other accrediting organizations
- Prepare and publish via Internet/Intranet, as well as paper copies, statistical charts, tables and graphs using a variety of computer software application programs
- Design and conduct surveys, analyze data and interpret research findings using descriptive, inferential and multivariate statistics, and content analysis
- Coordinate data and submit reports to IPEDS, US News and World Report, Peterson's, College Board, Barron, ACT, and other organizations
- Keep abreast of trends and developments in field of higher education. Work with the Director to make the relevant information known to administrators, faculty, and staff, as appropriate
- Perform trend analysis on need based subjects including but not limited to student retention and graduation, academic teaching load, grading trend, etc.
- Maintain and update SPSS syntax files for various data extraction and analysis purposes
Requirements
- Master's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's Degree in research, statistics, social science, education, or a related field required, and a minimum of 3 years related experience in higher education with experience in assessment, evaluation methodology and institutional effectiveness activities.
- Ph.D. Preferred.
- Computer skills: Database software – PowerCampus, SQL, Microsoft Access; Structured query language programming, Report-writing tools; SPSS.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and writing skills
- Descriptive, inferential and multivariate statistics
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
