Start Searching Here:

These options help you define exactly what you’re looking for in a job. The correct choice of search options can greatly improve your ability to find your next job.

Keywords: Put the terms that you think will define the type of job you’re looking for. Ideally, try to put a few of the words that you think would appear in the job’s description or title.
(Note: Quotation marks will be ignored.)

You can then decide if you want the search to use:

• Any Word (the default)
  Any job that has any of the words you listed will be returned.
• All Words
  Only jobs with all of the words you listed will be listed.
• Exact Phrase
  Only jobs with exactly the phrase you entered will show up.

Job Category:
Choose any and all job categories in the fields you want to look through.

Region: Select as many of the areas you’d like to work.

Search By Employer: This is an advanced featured. Use this if you’d like to see what specific employers have to offer right now.

Search By Distance: When you do a search, all distances to jobs are based upon starting from this address. If you’ve logged in with an account, then your home address will show up here when you first come to the page. If there is no address, then searching by distance is not available. If you’re not logged in, you can still use this feature by simply entering in your address here.

Save This Job Search:

Once you have a search that you’d like to be able to run again, you can save it as an Agent. When the search is ready and the results are what you’re looking for, simply enter a name for the job search agent in the text box.

Name This Job Search:
You can name it whatever you like, but it’s usually helpful to call it something descriptive like “C++ Jobs”, or “Admin in San Jose”.

Find New Jobs for Me:
When you save it, you can also request NelsonJobs to email you new jobs that are found by that search:

• Daily: Every night, we will email you new jobs that the search agent finds.
• Weekly: One a week, we will email you new jobs that the search agent finds.
• Monthly: Every month, we will email you new jobs that the search agent finds.
• Do Not Send Email: if you select this, then you can run the search agent yourself, but we will not be sending you any emails with jobs found.

Your Saved Job Searches:

This section allows you to manage your job searches. Once you’ve selected a job search from the list, you can do the following:

Search: It will run the search and present the results to you.

Delete: If you no longer want to use that saved search, you can click this button and it will be deleted for you.

Search Results:

When you run a search you will see your jobs listed here. You'll find the title and a short description of the jobs found. If you’d like to see the complete listing for any job, just click either Read More » or View Job Detail.

Results Per Page: You can select how many job listings you want on a single page. By selecting a smaller number, the page downloads faster. By picking a larger number, more jobs are visible at once.

Distance: If you have an address in the Search By Distance section under the Start Searching Here, you can restrict your attention to jobs that are within certain distances from your starting address. The larger the number, the more jobs you’ll find, since you’re including a larger region. The smaller the number, the fewer jobs you’ll see, since it will only show those nearby.

Save To Job Cart: When pressed, this puts the job listing into your job cart. Once in the job cart, it remains there until you remove it. It can be reviewed at any time and then applied to at any time.

Email To A Friend: Sometimes we find jobs that are perfect for people we know. At times like that, you can email the posting to a friend. We will automatically send them an email with the note you create.
