Job Title: AR Accountant

Location: Berkeley

Compensation: $35-$40/hr

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare invoices for all Workers' Compensation and Property & Casualty TPA fees, flat fees and per claim fees

· Cash Receipts

· Review Corporate bank accounts throughout the day to see if any payments have been received

· Review client bank accounts throughout the day to see if any impound funding has been received, update SharePoint list for cash received, and notify Client Accountant of the cash received for their accounts

· Ensure that any corporate funds or client impound funds are not commingled among accounts and notify applicable staff of any wire/transfer needs

· Perform and/or prepare live checks for deposit via remote deposit scanning and scanning and saving all live checks into shared drive

· Prepare monthly GL account reconciliations

· Collections and client follow up on any past due invoices

· Reconcile outstanding Accounts Receivable reports to the Trial Balance monthly

· Prepare days sales outstanding reports (DSO) for month-end KPIs

· Treasury functions including setting up wires

· Act as liaison with other departments to adjust or reconcile financial data

· Assist Accounting team members as backup support

· Provides a range of administrative duties such as filing, data input (into SIMS or GP)


· BA/BS in Accounting, Economics or Finance required

· 1 year Staff Accountant or Corporate Accounting experience, preferred

· Previous experience as a Staff Accountant reconciling GL accounts strongly preferred

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced EXCEL skills

· Knowledge of commonly used accounting concepts, practices, and procedures

· Strong attention to detail and the ability and drive to troubleshoot problems

· Excellent organizational skills

· Flexible, proactive, creative yet disciplined and with strong Initiative

· Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail

· Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task

· Reasoning ability, including problem-solving and analytical skills, i.e., proven ability to research and analyze facts, identify issues, and make appropriate recommendations and solutions for resolution

· Ability to be trustworthy, dependable, and team-oriented for fellow employees and the organization
