Job Title: Accounting Manager

Location: Alameda

Compensation: $50-$55/hr

Job Summary: Are you a seasoned accounting professional with experience in the construction or manufacturing industry? Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to join their dynamic team. As an integral part of the organization, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
  • Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project cost analysis, inventory management, and job costing activities.
  • Manage the year-end audit process and work closely with external auditors to ensure timely completion.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and systems to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes, and implement necessary updates to ensure compliance.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and business growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and industry-specific accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Experience with Oracle Fusion is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze complex financial data.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
