Job Title: Accounting Technician

Location: Sacramento
Compensation: $27-$35 an hour

Job Summary:

A local non-profit client of ours is looking for an accounting technician to join their team on a temp to hire basis. This role is responsible for performing a complex array of accounting, administrative and clerical work to support the accounting and human resources department. This is a full time role Monday thru Friday with a hybrid schedule after completing training period.

Job Title Responsibilities:

Evaluate and reconcile diverse financial reports, inspect, and assign proper account codes to source documents, invoices, purchase requests, purchase orders, expense vouchers, etc. to confirm accuracy and post applicable records.
Input accounts payable, verify accuracy of data input and prepare checks for signature
Maintain and routinely audit the inventory of fixed assets
Develop and maintain filing systems for invoices, vouchers, documents, reports, and other accounting records
Assist with annual audit
Process payroll and perform associated tasks
Provide support for the hiring and separation processes
Provide technical support during employee benefit selection process
Conduct new hire reference checks
Onboard new employees
Prepare and submit various mandated State and Federal employment reports
Prepare and submit various sales and use tax reports
Answer requests for employee information from the EDD and other governmental agencies
Reconcile bank statement monthly
Set up new bank information, account numbers, routing numbers and make changes to accounts
Pay monthly credit card statement

Job Title Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited 2-year college, university or technical school with major course work in accounting or closely related field or 3 years of progressive experience in similar role preferred
Knowledge of AccuFund software a plus
