Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary:
Are you looking to work in a flexible and growing diverse company? We are partnering with a construction company who is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for accounts payable, purchase orders and construction job cost. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and be a team player.
Job Title Responsibilities:
- Match purchase order with delivery tags and invoices
- Verify unit pricing against purchase order
- Validate cost codes against budget
- Verify sales tax and/or use tax has been properly applied if applicable
- Enter invoices into accounting system
- Review vendor statements and follow up on past due invoices
- Request W9's from new suppliers when applicable
- Review subcontractor information for projects
- Ability to re-class journals in job cost if necessary
- Complete and submit vendor credit applications as needed
- Deposit checks to bank as needed
Job Title Requirements:
- AA degree in accounting/finance and 2+ years' experience in a construction or manufacturing industry preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel (Pivot tables and VLOOKUP) preferred.
- Understanding of GAPP and basic accounting principles preferred.
