Job Summary / Purpose:

The Benefits Assistant will be responsible for supporting the benefits departments and at times, the greater HR team. This is an entry to mid-level opportunity for a driven individual to increase their knowledge within the Benefits Department. You will report to the Benefits Manger and will be based in Walnut Creek, CA. The position is a Full-time, hourly paid role

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day to day benefits administration, learn and understand ACA requirements
  • Assist with benefit administration, support production, and maintain several monthly reports
  • Ability to prioritize, anticipate needs, and adapt to challenges within the role
  • Dependable and consistently working in the office to provide the necessary level of support to the HR team, employees, and management
  • Partner with our benefit broker and other benefit partners to insure smooth delivery of products
  • Diplomacy, confidentiality, and professionalism are a cornerstone of this role and developing and maintaining positive working relationships is a must amongst all team members
  • Assist the Payroll and Human Resource team as needed
  • Assist management with organizing meetings and events
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as required in support of the HR team and management

Required Skills, Education and Certifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, self starter, with the ability to keep up with fast pace processes
  • Tech savvy, comfortable with spreadsheets, all Microsoft Office products, Gmail and Google docs
  • Must be a problem-solver, and a team-player

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred, may be substituted with work experience)
  • Experience with ACA preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10-15 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time throughout the work day
  • Ability to use standard office equipment such as personal computer, laptop, telephone, photocopy machine, etc.
  • Very limited travel - 5%
