Are you a skilled CARPENTER looking for a full time opportunity in the East Bay? We are a large residential Property Owner/Manager of beautiful 1 & 2 bedroom townhouse communities. We need your help with both commercial and residential properties. Your day to day will consist of general carpentry work, framing, dry rot repair, siding installation, and building and repair of decks as well as basic construction. If you have experience with flooring - you are an even better fit for us!

* Strong experience in general maintenance (basic electrical, repair, paint, appliances) is a MAJOR PLUS!

Salary is dependent upon experience - $60,000 - $75,000/year with outstanding benefits - 40 hours a week minimum!

Objective:
Ensure the timely, cost-effective and high-quality execution of all carpentry duties for assigned properties under the supervision and direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform carpentry duties as required, including the design, fabrication, installation and repair of wood and formica structures, and operate the full range of equipment related to carpentry activities.
  • Frame and install walls, partitions, doorways and windows.
  • Hang both interior and exterior doors.
  • Replace windows and door screens.
  • Replace baseboards and trim work.
  • Install, repair and replace damaged cabinetry and countertops as needed.
  • Install and replace a variety of hardware including door locks and jambs, handicap bars and curtain rods.
  • Install, repair and replace fences and gates as needed.
  • Assist with remodels as directed (i.e., tearing down existing walls, framing new walls).
  • Perform painting touch-ups as required by carpentry installations or repairs (i.e., when hanging doors, installing fences).

Equipment Maintenance and Safety

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on all equipment based on manufacturer recommendations and operating manuals, and maintain all personal and company-owned tools, supplies and materials.
  • Ensure the company vehicle is adequately stocked with routinely used supplies and materials and is maintained in safe working condition at all times.
  • Comply fully with company's safety standards as well as with Cal-OSHA in all work, and utilize proper safety precautions according to manufacturer recommendations.

General Duties

  • Assist with general property maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner, and provide daily reports on work completed to the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Attend and participate in the weekly property meetings.
  • Make recommendations regarding the implementation of new processes, techniques, materials and/or equipment that will enhance or improve operations.
  • Attend continuing education classes and additional training throughout the year to sharpen existing skills and to learn new skills.
  • Participate in the emergency on-call schedule to ensure evening, weekend and holiday coverage.
  • Maintain a professional, well-groomed appearance and appropriate attire at all times in accordance with company policy.
  • Assist with all other tasks and special projects as directed by management.

Salary - $52,000 - $73,000 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • San Leandro, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
  • Carpentry: 3 years (Required)
  • Driver's License (Required)
