Our client, centrally located in the Santa Cruz County, is a family owned small-sized Machine Shop who manufacturers precision components for a number of varying industries -Medical, Defense, Aerospace and others! Due to a growing demand in business, they're in need of an experienced Machinist to support both horizontal and vertical CNC operations. In this career advancing position, you'll be tasked with the following, but not limited to:

  • Conduct setups for both horizontal and vertical mills in the manufacturing and production departments. Machines used are 5-Axis, Vertical and Horizontal.
  • Read, understand and interpret drawings, schematics and blueprints.
  • Collaborate and communicate with all levels of staff and personnel. 4 mid/upper level Management on staff.
  • Measure and document dimensions of complex machined parts.
  • Problem solve/Troubleshoot quality and machining errors and issues. Important - daily use of G-Code for CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines.

To succeed in this role, we're seeking the following qualifications and requirements:

  • Working proficiency of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with tolerances as specific as .0001"
  • 3-5+ years of CNC operations, including both setup and operating and overall understanding of BOTH horizontal and vertical mills.
  • Hands on application with inspections and CMM operations.
  • CAM/CAD software. Experience with Siemans and Fanuc controls is strongly preferred.

Schedule: Monday through Friday AM hours, with OT potential.

Assignment: Permanent

Compensation: (Commensurable upon experience) $33 to $40+ per hour
