Corporate Financial Controller

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic leader to play a key role in scaling the accounting operations to support the business growth. The Corporate Controller will hire and mentor the team to meet the challenges of a high growth company and guide the team on its path to complete first year financial audit and public company readiness. The Corporate Controller will partner with all aspects of business to build and improve business and accounting processes, systems and controls while ensuring that core accounting functions are operating at a level appropriate for the stage of the Company.

In this role, you will partner closely with cross-functional business partners, engineers, and the broader finance team to drive scalable accounting operation solutions for day-to-day and month-end close activities. You excel in problem-solving, leading automation projects, recommending solutions, and thinking strategically on a process level.

You will

Lead all aspects of our clients corporate accounting - responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of consolidated financial reports and statements for presentation to the Company's management

Be a leader who is driven to build high performing teams, contributing to a positive and empathetic culture that values members, providing support and mentorship

Be a functional expert in accounting and financial reporting related matters who will provide guidance on US GAAP and ensure the integrity of the consolidated financial results as reported

Be comfortable communicating results and addressing issues as they arise to management

Collaborate with leadership across the company to provide timely reporting to assist in strategic initiatives and key decision processes

Ensure controls over financial reporting processes are in place and are executed timely and accurately

Work with our clients external auditors and advisors on audit, accounting and other matters

Work cross functionally with other leaders at our client to scale and operationalize processes supporting business growth

Work cross functionally with other leaders to challenge and optimize the accounting and finance system as part of scaling initiatives

Undertake all aspects of tax transaction across the company

Finalize and record purchase price accounting entries and ensure accounting for all acquisition and divestiture is in compliance with US GAAP and SEC Rules

Maintains stewardship for financial assets and debt including overall cash management, debt management and investment management functions of the organization

Ideally you'd have

Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with an emphasis in Accounting

Active Certified Public Accounting (CPA)

5+ years of experience in big four public accounting, including experience auditing publicly traded global corporation in the tech industry

7+ years accounting experience at global, publicly traded growth companies in corporate accounting/finance leadership positions; start-up experience is a plus

Proven extensive experience in providing and implementing accounting guidance on technical matters related to revenue (ASC606) and cost (ASC340)

Experience leading a company through first year audit is a must

Experience leading a company through an IPO process is a plus

Strong knowledge of US GAAP

Strong analytical and research skills

Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills

A proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and to build strong working relationships

Demonstrable experience in managing, developing, and inspiring high performing teams

Ability to roll-up the sleeves to execute and prioritize tasks and problem solve in a fast and less-structured environment Nice to haves

Proven experience in implementing and maintaining best in class financial reporting controls

Proven experience in written up technical memos or accounting policies

Experience with SQL, NetSuite or other major ERP
