Now Hiring: Director of Operations and Supply Chain

Location: Petaluma, CA

Job purpose: The Director of Operations and Supply Chain is responsible for planning,

implementing and monitoring overall supply chain strategy and activities in order to maximize quality, efficiency and productivity. This position is a key leader in the organization, a member of the company's Leadership Team and directly leads key Managers in Production, Quality Safety & Environment, Procurement, Distribution, Facilities and Sales & Operations Planning.

Primary Responsibilities:

End-to-end oversight of the company's supply chain and operations across three warehousing and mixed use sites.

Directs strategic planning for company's two Production sites, including capacity asset utilization and throughput, food safety and product quality initiatives, operational systems and sustainable processes with a continuous mindset.

Ensures the development of systems and procedures for operating and managing facilities, human resources, equipment and products in a profitable, safe and manner.

Manages Warehousing & Distribution teams, including oversight of inbound and Logistics, internal fulfillment processes and inventory management.

Oversees company Procurement strategy: purchasing processes, key supplier and partnership standards, including senior relationship with global.

Manages Demand Planning function and coordination of integrated sales and production plans, ensuring accurate and timely forecasts.

Participates as an advisory member of the New Product Development steering committee.

Ensures that the company operates in compliance with all pertinent regulatory bodies, federal, state and local agencies.

Oversees development and implementation of company Sustainability initiatives, leading Sustainability taskforce

Collaborates cross-functionally with company Leadership Team to make decisions operational activities and set strategic goals.

Oversee Supply Chain Team, including: Production Manager, Distribution Manager, Manager, SR Facilities Engineer & Project Manager, and QSE Manager.

Responsible for setting and managing development goals for direct team members and implementation of growth and development initiatives within each sub-team.

The Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading the Food Safety management team includes attending Annual Reviews, and aiding in the implementation and of SQF and Food Safety Programs.

Oversee and uphold Food Defense Plan with respect to issuing keys, key cards, door and alarm codes. Assumes responsibility for deactivating/rekeying in the event of

departure or termination.

Responsible for overseeing the management of the Crisis Management Plan including and testing plan and recall program.

Skills and Experience:

Proven experience as Supply Chain Manager, Head of Operations or equivalent position in a perishable, manufacturing-driven environment; 7-10 years of experience preferred.

Excellent organizational and leadership abilities

Outstanding communication and people skills

Knowledge of specialty cheese and/or dairy industry's regulations and best practices strongly preferred In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g. supply chain, finance, customer service etc.)

Experience with ERP system implementation strongly preferred

Experience with Lean manufacturing and principles a plus

Strong knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
