Director of Sales - Northern CA - On Premise

Wonderful opportunity with an amazing distributor of fine wine, beer and spirits.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned or requested:
o Directly supervises our On-Premise Sales Team for Northern CA, while being responsible for establishing, communicating, and achieving the company's key revenue, volume and distribution objectives.
o Works with high level of focus against 30/60 day focus goals and a strong sense of urgency to launch new brands with excellence- sets the pace with the sales team and manages with a high sense of accountability.
o Works with a strong collaborative style with all departments within WW to include HR, Credit, Marketing, Sales Support and Purchasing.
o Cultivates strong working relationship with all of our strategic suppliers and closely partners with them achieve our mutually agreed sales plans.
o Has a good feel for competitive brands and a strong sense of emerging trends in the market.
o Works in tandem with our Training and Recruiting team to identify talent and communicate on-going personnel needs. Active in candidate interviews for the On-Premise.
o Leads by example by conducting regular training and mentoring of On-Premise managers and sales reps in the field.
o Works in conjunction with the Category Leads for Wine, Specialty and Spirits to develop and direct channel-specific distribution strategies and volume programs.
o Conducts regularly scheduled Sales Meetings for managers and reps that are engaging, informative and inspiring.
o Implements On-Premise sales standards for the division and embraces ongoing brand education and sales training.
o Solicits feedback to constantly improve overall performance. Open to advice and opinions of others.
o Ensures annual performance reviews and ongoing evaluations for all divisional staff members are conducted in full accordance with stated company policies and procedures. Orchestrates on-going career path conversations with On-Premise sales team.
o Represents the company with the highest level of integrity in all instances.
o Minimum five to eight years superb management experience at high industry-specific level
o Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) or equivalent combination of education and work experience
o Proven track record of accomplishments in mid-level to senior management
o Extensive fine wine / beverage alcohol product and industry knowledge
o Existing account relationships is highly desirable
o A proven track record of accomplishments and a demonstrated leader among employees - a role model for the company culture. Ability to work cross-organizationally toward solutions and be a devoted consensus builder
o Is highly organized and possesses very effective time management skills
o Has strong written and verbal communication skills, with equally strong listening skills
o Has the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations
o Demonstrates a "hands-on" management approach in an intense, fast-paced environment, with ability to motivate teams to produce results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several initiatives and/or projects with a high level of proficiency and accuracy
o Excellent and well documented supervisory, motivation, and training skills
o Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Intermediate or better knowledge in Google Apps and SAP is preferred
