Financial Reporting Analyst

Our client, a local nonprofit in Marin County focused on humanitarian aid, is seeking a full-time, permanent Financial Reporting Analyst to join their team. This role is responsible for consolidated financial analysis and reporting, consolidated cash flow management, financial systems management, and more. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years related experience, a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, and excellent communication skills. Netsuite experience and MBA/CPA is a major plus.
Financial Reporting Analyst Responsibilities:
Responsible for the preparation and communication of a monthly internal financial management reporting package and related reviews
Working closely with the management team, develop Key Performance Indicators and establish regular KPI reporting; analyze performance trends and variances; identify opportunities and risks
Responsible for the financial planning process, timetable, preparation and reviews of short-term, medium-term and long-term forecasts.
Create an effective bottoms-up cash flow actual and forecast consolidation process; ensure cash transfers are requested on a timely basis
Analyze the drivers of cash receipts and expenditures; work closely with management to achieve expected revenues and to control expenses; develop long-term cash flow forecasts to manage liquidity and growth
Support the CEO and CFO with regard to bank financing and reporting
Responsible for the preparation, review and filing of tax returns and other statutory filing requirements; California EDD filings; State Unemployment Insurance filings and payments`
Communicate Monthly Close deadlines prior to each month-end
Reconcile accounts payable and notes payable accounts; reconcile and analyze accounts receivable, employee advances, undeposited funds, prepaid deposits and security deposits outstanding
Reconcile inventory accounts; fixed assets; deferred revenues/advances from donors
Publish monthly Financial Statements including Key Indicators, the Consolidated Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements compared to Budget and Prior Periods; general additional reports as requested
Document procedures used to perform the essential job functions in the Finance Procedures Manual; participate in the further development of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting.
Financial Reporting Analyst Requirements:
At least 5 years of work experience in accounting, audit & reporting
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration; MBA or CPA preferred but not required
Knowledge of non-profit accounting preferred
Proficiency in MS Office; experience using NetSuite is desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
