Job Title: HR Benefits Specialist
Location: Concord, CA
HR Benefits Specialist Responsibilities:
- Manage Benefits email account & HR/Benefits phone line, responding to employee inquiries
- Conduct benefit premium, employee status & enrollment audits, ensuring employee data is accurate
- Review, reconcile & submit benefit monthly & quarterly invoices for payment
- Conduct new hire benefit orientation
- Manage ACA process - including monthly review of calculations, system flags & other data
- Manage annual open enrollment process - including rate changes in HRIS system, testing, updating benefits brochure, communication materials & setting up workshops
- Conduct & manage annual NDT - Non-Discrimination Testing for FSA plans
- Review annual Form 5500 for accuracy
- Review annual WRAP document and Benefit Notices
- Process contribution funding for the 401k & Deferred Compensation plans
- Work with auditors on annual 401k audit
- Review & audit weekly reporting from Fidelity against data in ADP to ensure accuracy
- Create & distribute standardized reports & produce ad-hoc reports as needed
- Oversee vacation & sick pay policies, ensuring compliance with local ordinances
- Manage unemployment claims & employment verification processes
- Act as a back up for workers' compensation, leaves of absences and ADA accommodation requests
- Act as a back up with managing the HR email account, responding to employee inquiries, & forwarding to applicable team member as needed
- Assist with special projects in Payroll & HR technology processes
HR Benefits Specialist Requirements: - BA/BS or equivalent work experience
- 2 - 4 years in benefits & retirement administration or an HR Generalist role
- Experience working with benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, life insurance, AD & D & EAP
- Experience in FMLA, ADA, CFRA, WA Paid Family & Medical Leave, Military Leave, Pregnancy Disability, Parental Leaves and Personal Leaves
- Experience with ADP Vantage is strongly preferred
- Retail industry experience preferred
