HR Manager Remote - CA Contract 3-6 months $48-$58 per hour
The HR Manager will lead all aspects of recruitment, performance management, compensation, policies and compliance, team-building, benefits administration and will provide general guidance to the leadership team on personnel matters and employee relations. As our People leader, you'll partner with all staff across the entire business and play a key role in Chairish's development and success. This role is remote but is ideally based in California.
Responsibilities
- Provide thought leadership and support on people and organizational issues.
- Actively participate with leaders to advise on people and organization impact of business plans and decisions.
- Manage the recruitment process from start to finish, including (but not limited to) extending offer letters, HR, IT and payroll onboarding. Manage external talent acquisition resources and partners.
- Oversee onboarding program and identify areas for greater efficiences and develop training content.
- Work with leaders to identify HR and talent needs and implement related projects and programs to support those goals.
- Act as a point of escalation for HR operations and employee relations.
- Lead bi-annual performance management process. Evaluate current tools and processes and upgrade as needed to ensure optimal individual, team and company performance.
- Manage total rewards program, including market based compensation and benefits offerings.
- Serve as a senior advisor to the executive team on all people related matters to ensure the company has the talent, processes, systems, and policies necessary to support our strategic and financial goals.
- Create and manage surveys and other communication channels to ensure frequent employee feedback.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, multi-state and national standards and laws.
- Build trust with employees across all layers of the organization and be an active listener and effective problem solver of people issues.
- Oversee company diversity and inclusion activities, and continue to promote and strengthen our company culture.
- Additional HR projects/duties as needed
Your experience
- 5 years of progressive Human Resources work experience.
- Minimum 1-year experience working directly with an executive leadership team.
- Comfort with most HR disciplines (employee relations, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, performance management and program management).
- Experience with California employment law; multi-state compliance knowledge a plus.
- Excellent communication, listening, and problem solving skills.
- Previous startup experience highly desired.
- Support multiple business partners with competing priorities and keep a high level of service with confidence and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement HR programs and plans that are aligned with overall business and HR strategy.
- Exercise a high degree of professionalism and communication with confidential information.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong background in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration and compliance.
- Strong process and project management skills.
