One, a prominent leader in the Construction field for over 50 years and the other, an Alameda County Healthcare Services supporting the local community for over 40 years -two great, well-established companies fostering a growth oriented and thriving environment. Read on and consider one of three HR roles with a growing and established industry leader.

  1. HR Assistant, Contract to hire ($52k - $60k, DoE)
  2. HR Coordinator, Direct Hire ($75k - $80k, DoE)

(1) HR Assistant - Considered the catalyst in the HR department, the HRA is one of the first teammates applicants and employees meet and speak with. You'll assist with fielding and responding to applicants' questions, help with recruiting, maintaining employment files and profiles, support various Administrative and reporting duties.

    1. Help with new hire orientation and onboarding packets, including open enrollment and medical/health insurance and enter details into company's HRIS. Process I-9 (E-Verify) and EDD reporting while conducting infrequent audits.
    2. Document and account for all Employee Referrals, collaborating with the HRBP and internal Recruiter.
    3. Assist with driving recruitment efforts by supporting interview calendaring, documentation -drafting offer letters, new-hire checklists- and initial screening.
    4. Support with Intern programs, Scholarship applications, Extern Students and Volunteer applicants.
    5. Aid in performance evaluations and exit interviews. Drafts, processes and files WC forms -DWC-1/OSHA-300- and schedule accommodation agreements.
    6. Other Administrative and Reporting duties assigned on an as needed basis.

(2) HR Coordinator - An essential cog in the HR department, the HRC is instrumental with the recruiting and selection process then to basic orientation, employee relations and benefit administration. This role provides high-end touch points around onboarding, employment verifications, maintain employment files and supporting various reporting and administrative functions with a strong sense of confidentiality and integrity.

    1. Supports and coordinates all new hire orientation. Set up new hires' paperwork and profiles into HRIS (including but not limited to I-9s, Offer Letters, Immunization status, etc.), collaborating with the HRBP and HR Specialist.
    2. Coordinate open enrollment meetings, company wide for all levels of staff. Be the 1st tiered response for benefit questions, delegate other higher-level questions to upper management in HR.
    3. Organize recruiting efforts and ensure compliance (confirming interviews, provide offer and rejection letters). Initial screening of any/all entry-level candidates.
    4. Plans the Intern, Extern and Volunteer programs. Drives and promoted the Employee Appreciation program!
    5. Gathers and shares HR Metrics (New hire #s, interviews, recruiting efforts) and HR related topics with Management.
    6. Other Administrative and Reporting duties assigned on an as needed basis.

To excel in any of these roles, one must be comfortable with and possess the following:

  • Education: HRA (High school degree). HRC (High school degree, college degree preferred).
  • Experience: HRA (1-year of entry-level HR work experience). HRC (1-2+ years of HR related experience. Understanding of local, state and federal hour and wage compliance).
  • Comply with company pre-screening requirements (E.g. Criminal background check)
  • Experience in a Non-Profit environment.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) speaking ability is strongly preferred.
  • High attention to detail. Impeccable organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Working proficiency with various HRIS, ADP and MS Office Suite (E.g. Intermediate to Advance experience with Excel).
  • Ability to collaboratively work in a team environment with all levels of staff or independently with minimal to no supervision.
  • Foster and promote a professional environment by leading by example, all the while building trust and respect amongst fellow teammates and employees.
  • Outstanding internal and external communication skills.
