Our industry leading, Bay Area Automotive client is seeking to fill a 7-month contract Logistics Operations Supervisor void for their Fremont, CA facility. Assignment: 7-month contract assignment slated to start October 2nd
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm (flexibility with rotating shifts or weekend demands -On Occasion)
Compensation: $35-$40 per hour (DoE)

Amongst this Logistics Operations Supervisor role, one will be tasked with the following day to day duties:

  • Mentor and Manage a team of 20-25 logistics and inventory management professionals. Coach and drive Quality and Productivity to meet activity standards and metrics.
  • Work with the NPI department by introducing, communicating, and rolling out new products in an automotive production environment.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure production standards and timelines are met. Departments such as QA/QC, Engineering, Packaging and Supply Chain.
  • Foster and promote a continuous improvement environment.
  • Supports the direction and production flow from receiving, to storage, to production to delivery of finished products.
  • Maintains material handling functions and efforts.
  • Change flow and process improvement. Corrective action measures.
  • Monitor and control attendance policies. Coordinating shift and personnel changes.
  • Delegate TPS audits pertaining to Manual Handling, Driving and Standard Operating Procedures.

To succeed in this role, the incumbent will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • 3+ years of Lean Manufacturing experience, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing warehouse design and flow, fleet operations, distribution center.
  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience.
  • MS Office Suite.
  • TPS, Six Sigma Certification (strongly preferred but not required)
  • Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally. Cross functional department leader.
  • BD in Supply Chain or related field. Equivalent experience or combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
