WE ARE HIRING A FULL TIME MAINTENANCE MECHANIC FOR A LARGE FOOD MANUFACTURER IN HAYWARD!!!

SWING SHIFT - Monday-Friday - 2:30PM - 10:30PM

SALARY - $30 - 34/hr. DOE - Will consider higher for outstanding experience. Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance included and 401(k) retirement plan offered.

Responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing production, building and facilities equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to adjust equipment for products to be run, including baggers, scales, dispensers, vibratory conveyors, labelers, printers, sealers and all other manufacturing related equipment.
  • Communicate with manager and others regarding parts and procedures to complete job.
  • Able to run conduits, wire transformers, relays, motors, controls and plant lighting to NEC code.
  • Document all activities and have good communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair all breakdowns including production equipments, plant electricity (High/low voltage), Vacuum pumps and plant air.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and write/complete work orders.
  • Maintain company buildings and facilities.
  • Understand the electrical & mechanical operation of the equipment, how to adjust it safely and have the ability to disassemble & reassemble it as needed.
  • Know how to safely use shop, hand tools and various electrical meters and testers.
  • Gather information for spare parts and write requisition.
  • Must attend all company and department required trainings.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced and multi-tasking work environment.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and have the ability to interact positively with others within the department and the organization
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret a variety to instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, blueprints, schematic or schedule form.
  • Ability to speak effectively and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be vaccinated and be able to pass a background, DMV and drug screen.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in the following skills and a strong background in at least two areas: electrical, plumbing, fabrication, welding, compressors, boilers, building and facilities maintenance.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, work on high voltage, near pinch points, trouble shoot machines without proper guarding, machines with hot surface, machines with sharp edges (Knives) and is regularly exposed to airborne particles. The employee occasionally works in high places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is usually loud. Work is normally performed in a warehouse/production type atmosphere where the temperature is approximately 32 degrees.
