Production Operation Manager for a highly efficient consumer beauty manufacturing company!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages the activities of packaging and packaging maintenance personnel in a cost-effective manner to meet operational objectives, maintain production schedules, and ensure product quality. Considers numerous alternatives, often within specific time frames, when dealing with packaging concerns such as meeting production schedules, the impact of cost versus quality, equipment capacity and capability limits, manpower utilization, and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Manages daily quality related production decisions and the most effective utilization of available resources. Must respond quickly with innovative solutions to changes in production requirements or machine downtime. Drives continuous improvement initiatives utilizing scientific methodologies such as Cause & Effect, FMEA, 5 Why's, etc.

Coordinates operations activities with various Manufacturing and Corporate departments, including Warehouse to determine availability and delivery of parts, Engineering to install new equipment and determine capacity and capability, R&D to ensure robust formulas and processes, Quality to assess product acceptability and optimization, purchasing to provide feedback to suppliers.

Manages and facilitates the ongoing implementation of LEAN initiatives such as WPO (Work Place Organization), rapid change-over (SMED - Single Minute Exchange of Die), and Autonomous Maintenance, etc. utilizing appropriate change management methodologies.

Directs the implementation of departmental methods, procedures, and standards to meet operational objectives. Manages supervisors to assure proper and optimum utilization of equipment and personnel to minimize downtime, injuries and waste. Monitors and enforces the usage of GMPs, SOPs, and Safety Practices to meet regulatory requirements and company policies.

Monitors and controls batch and materials reconciliation ensuring compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements for over-the-counter (OTC) drug products. Reviews departmental SOPs and practices to ensure compliance with FDA, GMPs, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other regulatory requirements.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in related field, plus minimum of five years of manufacturing operations experience, including supervisory experience, in order to manage the efforts of the packaging personnel in a cost-effective manner to meet operational objectives, maintain production schedules, and ensure product quality.

Experience:

7+ years of manufacturing operations experience, including supervisory experience, in order to manage the efforts of the packaging personnel in a cost-effective manner to meet operational objectives.

Technical problem solving and troubleshooting skills to manage the repair, maintenance and operation of production equipment and direct the activities of technical subordinates.

Keen people management skills to motivate success.
