Payroll Accountant

Petaluma based non-profit focused on conservation & sustainability is seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant to join their growing team. This position is responsible for the entirety of the organization's payroll process but also the accuracy of fund allocation in relation to payroll.

The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Processing bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees including hours worked, taxes, insurance, and garnishments.
  • Compiling a variety of detailed reports for financial reporting.
  • Reviewing and improve systems as necessary to ensure efficiency.
  • Ensuring organization policies and governmental regulations are being followed as they relate to payroll functions.
  • Supporting with accounts payable as needed & other accounting functions.
  • Assist in training new employees on SOP's and guidelines.

Ideal qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' payroll experience within a non-profit organization preferred
  • Throughout knowledge of payroll policies and procedures
