Summary:

Seeking a Payroll Specialist to join a well-established company in Sacramento, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for payroll processing, ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions, and compliance with laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Checking timesheets for accuracy.
  • Enter, maintain, and/or process information in the payroll system; information may include: employees' hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
  • Handling direct deposit requests and data.
  • Assist in the development of overall payroll procedures by recommending improvements or changes when deemed necessary for greater efficiency.
  • Acquiring all necessary signatures to distribute payroll.
  • Making adjustments in pay for raises, bonuses and commission.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of California Wage and Hour laws.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
