JOB OBJECTIVE: To ensure the efficient preparation and pasteurization of our fluid milk and the consistent high quality of our perishable dairy products through the execution of standards and operating procedures. To maximize profitability and ensure the achievement of all Company goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Prepare products, such as yogurt, milk, butter, ice cream, etc., and ensure that the quality of the product meets or exceeds standards.
  • Prepare products within an established time frame.
  • Receive and test raw milk (Charms Test).
  • Prepare and complete data entry reports.
  • Minimize product loss.
  • Safely operate forklifts and electric and manual pallet jacks.
  • Assist with the training of new pasteurizers and limited pasteurizer assistants.
  • Must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and any/all established processes, whether established by their manager, by the company, or by law.
  • Must comply with all health, safety, security, and emergency requirements that are communicated to you, whether established by their manager, by the company, or by law.
  • Must work in a safe manner and communicate any safety hazards to a member of management.
  • Must comply with all Company policies communicated to you through your Employee Manual, trainings, notice boards, or other postings, or by a member of management.
  • Must participate in weekly team meetings, biweekly huddles, safety meetings, and other Company meetings as requested.
  • Must ensure work is produced in the most sustainable manner.
  • Must maintain excellent attendance.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
  • Comprehension of basic business math calculations to verify accurate costing and billing.
  • Must be able to measure or convert measurements in volume and weight.
  • Must be able to regularly complete full product line changeovers.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot problems related to your area of responsibility.
  • Prefer those who can communicate verbally in English and Spanish with cross-functional team members, supervisors, and other team members.
  • Prefer those familiar with or that have an aptitude for basic computer and inventory control programs.
  • Ability to calmly respond to equipment or other problems and find solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to perform with a high level of professionalism.
  • Must be organized, flexible, and enjoy the challenges of a diverse team and programs.
  • Must possess strong listening skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Willingness to help in urgent situations.
  • Schedule flexibility - Due to business needs, schedule may change.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts when required and to monitor and test sanitation or quality parameters when non-compliance occurs.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, on-call, after hours, and on weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extended periods of standing, sitting, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending, and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, hands, and fingers - Repetitive at times.
  • Full organoleptic (sight, smell, taste) as well as audio and vocal senses are necessary to evaluate and make sound decisions on product quality and production processes.
  • The ability to climb and balance is essential.
  • Temperatures range from -10° to 100° degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to withstand noise produced by manufacturing machinery up to 90 decibels.
  • Ability to lift, hold, and/or carry 55+ pounds of product unassisted.
  • Working on a computer and looking at the computer screen.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts when required and to monitor and test sanitation or quality parameters when non-compliance occurs.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, on-call, after hours, and on weekends.
