Job Title: Property Accountant

Location: Concord

Compensation: $45-$50/hr

Job Summary: Are you an experienced accountant with a strong background in property accounting? We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the financial activities related to our property portfolio. Proficiency in Yardi software and a solid understanding of property accounting principles are essential for this role. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for assigned properties.
  • Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations and ensure proper recording of property-related transactions.
  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for property operations.
  • Monitor rent collections, lease agreements, and tenant accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for budget vs. actual discrepancies.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and periodic reforecasts.
  • Performing journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records for a portfolio of 8-10 commercial properties.
  • Managing third-party accounting relationships and addressing the unique requirements of each client.
  • Demonstrating multitasking abilities to efficiently handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Applying your knowledge of debits and credits to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Working primarily with cash basis accounting principles.
  • Utilizing your expertise in Yardi software to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Following instructions and collaborating with team members to provide necessary support.
  • Assisting in various other accounting tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Support year-end audits and tax filing processes.
  • Maintain property-level financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with property accounting standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in property accounting.
  • Proficiency in Yardi software is required.
  • Strong knowledge of property accounting principles, including CAM reconciliations, lease administration, and property financial reporting.
  • 3rd party accounting
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial analysis concepts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with property management software or ERP systems is a plus.
