A thriving and growing Safety compliance company servicing the construction industry is in need of a Safety Specialist professional for their Fremont facility. If you have a background in supporting Safety initiatives, from IIPP, Modified Duty, Worker's Compensation claims, etc. then we want to hear from you!

Reporting into the Director of Safety & Training, you'll be responsible for initiatives focused on safety and compliance with the company's and industry's standards, all the while taking care of the client's employees who are represented by Union and non-Union members.

A few of the day to day functions in this role are, but not limited to:

  • Control all details around the company's IIPP while remaining compliant with any/all federal and state laws and the ATSSA.
  • Is an initial point of contact for any/all work related accidents and injuries at job sites.
  • Required travel to/from job sites and health clinics, investigating and reporting documentation around such claims.
    • Provides support throughout the entire process, from start to finish and return to work offerings or modified duty programs.
  • Partners with Human Resources for statuses, updates, WC claims.
  • Produce presentation material/collateral on safety trainings and topics through various forms of delivery (E.g. Handouts, Posters, Video, internal platforms, etc. accessible via laptop and smart phones)
  • Compliance with CalOSHA requirements, protocols and overall documentation and reporting.
  • Maintains and augments Safety programs such as monthly or quarterly fire drills, is a point of contact for local authorities (E.g. Police, Fire Departments, etc.)

To succeed in this role, you'll possess the following:

  • High school degree. GED.
  • Strongly preferred degree in Occupational Heath & Safety or certified in CHSP.
  • 4 year's minimum experience in a Safety compliance role, preferably in the Construction industry or similar, with higher compensation consideration for 7-10 years' experience. Traffic Control strongly preferred though not required.
  • Valid CDL and clean MVR.
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills, with all levels of staff including internal and external vendors.
  • Working proficiency and demonstrated knowledge base of federal and state compliance, including the DoT, CalOSHA and DoIR.
  • Spanish speaking ability is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Familiar with LMS (Learning Management Systems)

Assignment is contract, 4-6 months with possibility of going F/T.

Compensation (commensurable upon experience) is $30-$50 per hour.

Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm (earlier start times are open on a need by need basis)
