Nelson Connects is currently hiring for a Sanitation II worker in Santa Rosa.

This position performs semi-routine tasks of moderate complexity requiring discretion and use of limited judgment and initiative; may be required to direct and/or assist in training of less skilled workers. Knowledge of food industry sanitation, wine analysis, wine filtration, and hazardous waste management; should have experience with winery sanitation practices and operating bottling equipment.

Pay for this position is $25.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on experience.

Primary Objectives:

To meet company expectations in relation to the following:

  • Standards of punctuality, attendance, and teamwork
  • General housekeeping practices
  • To complete cellar processing operations:
  • In accordance with workplace instruction(s)
  • In a safe and efficient manner
  • In such a way to maintain wine quality and integrity, while minimizing and preventing wine loss due to poor workplace practices

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written through work orders.
  • Responsible daily for the general housekeeping of the cellar.
  • Responsible for sanitation in all areas of bottling operations.
  • Operates and cares for filters, pumps, hoses, and other equipment.
  • May heat up tanks of bottle ready wines and make required additions.
  • Change and sanitize filters on all lines.
  • Complete advanced maintenance on microfiltration plant.
  • Make adjustments to equipment to comply with QC Standards.
  • Train operators on microfiltration functions and operator duties.
  • May start up and/or shut down all lines.
  • Coordinate tank and wine changes.
  • Initiates weekly plan to obtain sanitation goals according to corporate standards.
  • Involved in bottling set-up and format change over.
  • Other routine bottling duties, as assigned.

Other Requirements:

  • Requires basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Required to work rotating shifts and overtime, as needed.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and/or lift (up to 50 lbs) for long periods.
  • Ability to work indoors or outdoors in all seasons and temperatures.

Pay for this position is $25.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on experience.
Shift is 7:30am to 6:00pm.

Hiring is dependent on client's pre-employment screening which includes a 7-year background check.
