Sr. General Ledger Accountant - Temp to hire

5+ years of hands-on corporate accounting experience (a MUST)

BS in Accounting required. CPA or CPA firm working experience is preferred


Ability to self-critic the work to ensure a 100% accuracy and on time delivery to the manager

Advanced Excel (i.e. SUMIF (a must), Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Hyperlink)

Advanced PowerPoint, PDF formatting, Outlook and Word

Strong research techniques to analyze data

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong organizational skills

Strong skills on document accounting end-to-end process flows

Excellent verbal and written skills

Writes detailed policy and procedure documents based on discussions with the manager and creation of process flows with an emphasis on accuracy and compliance with company's policy and procedures

Able to extend strategy and method to manage working under pressure

Faster learner & easy to with, team player

Cost Accounting booking/reconciling

Working experience for manufacturing company (preferred)

Strong straight-line Accounting concept

Hands-on General ledger entries- revenue, deferred revenue, prepaids, accruals, deferred rents, payroll booking etc., account reconciliations and month-end close

Reconcile fixed asset sub-ledger vs. general ledger and prepare fixed assets roll-forward

Fixed Asset Leasing Management- provide supporting documents to leasing company and reconcile the funding

Payroll & PTO transactions booking/accruing and reconciling

Compute and process accruals, deferred rent and prepaid expenses

Bank reconciliation of 8 cash accounts

AP Aging reconciliations

AP invoice reviews to ensure 100% accurately coded

Good understanding of cost accounting (review the entries on a top level)

Responsible for preparing monthly balance sheet and income statement, account reconciliations and FLUX analysis

Perform ad hoc assignments to support reconciliations

Assist with internal and external audits

Strong organizational skills and work ethic; ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently; ability to manage competing priorities; hands-on, self-motivated, and deadline-oriented

Ability to multi-task, work independently within a disciplined monthly close schedule

Expert knowledge of accounting/finance principles and GAAP

Knowledge of Accounting ERP Systems (QBO, MicrosoftNavision but not required)

Working Experience:

A pro-active nature to help embed process improvement and the ability to work closely with other functions are key attributes required for this role
