One of our non-profit clients is in need of a Senior Accountant. This Senior Accountant role will be Temp to Hire around the Oakland area. This position will also be onsite, when converted it will become hybrid. In this role you will be responsible for Month- and Year-end close process, Treasury Functions, Grants, and other tasks that will be assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly fees: prepares the monthly Property Management, Accounting, and Resident service fees, including intercompany invoicing, for approval by supervisor. Update fees as necessary, and prepare retroactive adjustments as necessary
  • GL Account reconciliation and analysis
  • Monthly Corporate Allocations to properties: prepare necessary journal entries for approval by Corporate Controller
  • Prepare and distribute corporate financials monthly for review
  • Maintains fixed asset schedule for corporate and commercial entities
  • Record monthly depreciations
  • Record amortization of prepaid taxes and insurance
  • Record monthly commercial rent receipts and expenses in coordination with 3rd party management company.
  • Assists Corporate Controller in preparation of the annual corporate audit and responding to inquires during the audit process
  • Maintain the weekly cash reports and make recommendations to Corporate Controller to situations that need attention
  • Record and process all approved requests for internal cash and ACH transfers
  • Prepares assigned bank reconciliations
  • Provide backup assistance with setting up new cardholders and maintaining existing cardholders for the corporate account
  • Compiles billing support monthly and prepares the grant billing submittals per the schedule timeline
  • Maintain the grant tracking spreadsheet
  • Participate in quarterly grand coordination meetings with resident services and serves as point person for presenting the billing information
  • Scans and files completed submittals and payment vouchers
  • Participate in grant monitoring visits


Requirements:

  • 4+ years of related accounting experience or a Bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting
  • Ability to apply constructive feedback to improve performance
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different levels of staff and management
  • Excellent written and oral communication & presentation skills with ability to effectively present information
  • Ability to proactively and autonomously handle daily responsibilities and projects with minimal direction
  • Ability to visualize, gather information, articulate, analyze, solve complex problems, and make decisions for which a precedent may not exist
  • Excellent decision-making, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Ability to work harmoniously in a multi-cultural team
