Role Overview:

We are in search of a Senior Buyer for our US operations, an individual who will anchor and cultivate ties with local wineries and suppliers. This role is pivotal in establishing new key relationships while fostering and expanding our current supplier portfolio. Candidates should have a keen numerical acumen, commercial outlook, and a solid grasp on product knowledge.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Domestic Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate new partnerships and fortify existing relationships. Oversee purchasing of domestic and international wines. Engage in product, cost, and quantity negotiations.

  • Client-Centric Approach: Grasp local client requirements and adapt our product offerings and supply chain accordingly.

  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with the Buying, Brand, and Senior Sales teams. Ensure opportunities are strategically planned and executed on a monthly, weekly, and daily basis.

  • Content Management: Oversee content for marketing opportunities. Ensure consistency and quality in content presented to clients via Account Managers.

  • Product and Sales Reporting: Lead product and sales reporting, highlighting and analyzing relevant market trends.

  • Market Awareness: Stay informed of market and competitor activities.

  • Brand Representation: Serve as a brand ambassador and be the primary contact for clients and producers.

  • Inter-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with logistics, brand, and sales teams. Be a vital contact point for the buying team.

  • Events and Campaigns: Organize and prepare for internal and external tastings, buying trips, and En Primeur campaigns.


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proven background in a Senior Wine Buying role.

  • Solid experience in managing supplier relationships.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the fine wine market and its trends.

  • WSET education

  • Proficient in Excel, with an ability to generate and analyze reports.

  • Attention to detail and commercially astute.

  • Comfortable in a dynamic, sales-centric environment.

  • Pro-active and organized with stellar communication skills.

  • Genuine passion and knowledge of the fine wine market.
