Job Title: Senior Tech Accountant or Accounting Manager/Supervisor with Biotech Experience
Location: Redwood City, CA
Compensation: $110-125K

Responsibilities:

  • Support month-end close process
  • Accounting and reporting of cash activities, investment income, prepaid expenses, other assets, fixed assets, lease accounting, general expense accruals, accounts receivable, and revenue accounting
  • Prepare and book journal entries in NetSuite
  • Prepare and book accruals and prepaid entries
  • Reconcile the GL accounts
  • Prepare property, sales and use tax and franchise tax returns
  • Assist in tie outs and supporting financial reporting
  • Partner with colleagues in AP, Accounting, FP&A and SEC Reporting
  • Interface with various departments including R&D, Legal, HR, and Facilities
  • Comply with SOX requirements while performing the above tasks and participate in documentation of SOX compliant processes

Job Title Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 3-5+ years Public Accounting Experience required but will considers if candidate has 3+ years of Biotech Industry experience
  • Fixed assets and ASC 842 lease accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite or other robust ERP system(s)
  • Fluency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Self-motivated, deadline driven, and results oriented with superior attention to detail
  • Problem-solving mindset with the desire to drive change and strong teamwork skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including written communication, that allows effective interactions across functional areas
  • Experience in life science, healthcare or technology industries preferred
